Willow Creek makeover

I created a small makeover of Willow Creek, reimagining four connected lots. While Willow Creek traditionally leans toward a New Orleans–inspired aesthetic, I reworked the area in my more typical brownstone style, carefully keeping elements that still fit the world contextually.

All four lots were designed with a visual axis in mind — allowing the view to flow naturally from the first to the last building. This creates a more immersive gameplay experience and works especially well for storytelling and in-game photography.

With the help of ideas and inspiration from my wonderful patrons, this is what the Willow Creek makeover became.

Art Gallery

Classic marble statue of a partially draped female figure in front of a blurred oil painting, featuring several figures and a dramatic scene, inside a museum setting.

Part 1 of the Willow Creek Makeover is the art gallery.

Housed in a historic building with high ceilings, the gallery features paintings and sculptures from different eras. The top floor is dedicated to modern art, creating a contrast between classic and contemporary styles.

In addition to exhibition spaces, the gallery offers:

  • a dedicated area for painting

  • a small shop selling art prints

  • a light-filled annex where visitors can enjoy a coffee after exploring the exhibitions

italian Restaurant

Cozy restaurant interior with rustic decor, wooden tables, checkered cushions, wine bottle, and framed photos on exposed brick walls.

Part 2 of the Willow Creek Makeover is an Italian restaurant spread across three floors.

The restaurant includes:

  • live cooking area where you can watch the pizza maker at work

  • a private dining room for quiet family meals

  • a spacious dining area for couples and larger groups

In the basement, you’ll find a wine cellar for tastings and a small hidden room inspired by the Prohibition era.

Adjacent to the restaurant is a tiny bubble tea shop. Across the street, there’s a cozy yet densely packed multi-story bookstore and a two-story men’s clothing store.

Willow Creek street 3

Courtyard with parked bicycles, iron staircase, brick walls, and flowering vines.

Part 3 of the Willow Creek Makeover is Willow Creek Street 3.

This area includes:

  • a yoga studio

  • a flower shop with a small workshop and storage area

  • a boutique called Baby Blue

  • a butcher and cheese dairy

  • a multi-story coworking space, including rooms for a small detective agency

Together, these spaces create a lively, everyday city atmosphere.

Speakeasy bar

A blurred city street scene featuring benches, trees, a car, shopfronts, and a banner.

The fourth and final part of the Willow Creek Makeover is a speakeasy bar.

The bar spans two floors and offers:

  • a large bar area

  • plenty of seating and bar tables

  • a stage for jazz or blues performances

  • a gallery level and many cozy armchairs

The outdoor area invites Sims to linger during warm summer evenings.

To ensure everything fits together visually, I created a small recolor set specifically for this project, designed to complement my existing recolors.

Next to the bar, you’ll find a small tailor shop with an attached photo studio. Nearby, there’s an old movie theater with two screening rooms, and in the center of the tree-lined square, a modern café brings the entire area together.
